International Equine Conference on Laminitis and Diseases of the Foot

The 7th International Equine Conference on Laminitis and Diseases of the Foot wrapped up on November 3rd following several days of cutting edge research and collaboration.

President of the Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA), Dan Rosenberg, honored Mr. and Mrs. John K. Castle with the "2013 PRESIDENT'S AWARD" in recognition of their unwavering dedication and commitment to conquering Laminitis. Mr. and Mrs. Castle exemplify the mission of the TCA to provide a better life for horses, both during and after their racing careers by supporting retirement, rescue and research and by helping the people who work with them. For a list of the other award recipients please visit the news segment on our website.

Thanks to the conference committee's leadership, this year's gathering was truly an international collaboration. The Owners Program proved to be a great addition and continues to grow in interest and attendance. The conference is fully cognizant of the importance of owners in battling this disease, and there are plans to continue gathering over the next 18 months in advance of the 2015 International conference.

For more information, the Conference Proceedings are published in the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science (JEVS) Volume 33, Number 10, so please have a look at the many abstracts.

Thank you for your continued support in moving us closer to our 2020 vision of Conquering Laminitis!
