Awards Program
The Lifetime Achievement Award for the veterinarian or farrier who has dedicated his/her career to treating horses with laminitis. The nominee's commitment goes beyond the day-to-day care and strives to include evidenced based medical and surgical treatments.
2009 Recipient: Dr. Rustin Moore - College of Veterinary Medicine, The Ohio State University.
The Pfizer Scientific Award for outstanding research and scientific achievements by a scientist, veterinarian or other researcher who advances the understanding of laminitis and the disease process. The nominee should be an individual who has or continues to dedicate their career to the basic sciences.
2009 Recipient: Dr. James Moore - College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia.
The Spot Courage Award is for the owner whose dedication and commitment to the commitment to the best medical care for their horse, advances the clinical treatment and management of laminitis by their veterinarian and farrier.
2009 Recipient: Ms. Kay Harris and Molly the Pony.
The CaRE Award is for the veterinary assistant and caregiver who demonstrates Compassion and Recovery Excellence. The nominee exceeds the standard of routine care.
2009 Recipient: Ms. Jennifer Wrigley.
The Spot Castle Awareness Award is for the person(s) who promote the mission and vision of the conference through their dedication to advancing the awareness of laminitis and other foot diseases.
2009 Recipients: Ms. Glenn Close and Ms. Fran Jurga.
